Does she love drawing and painting? An easel is a great idea for any girl who wants to be an artist one day.
There are many types of easels you can buy, including adjustable height ones for toddlers through school age, to adult ones for older kids and teenagers. When choosing an easel, consider the available space in her house, as well as how tall she is so that you get one that’s the right size for her. If space is an issue, you may consider buying a table top easel. I like this watercolor kit because it includes everything a beginner painter might need: an easel, brushes, paper, palette, and tubes of watercolor paints.
However, if you think she would like to paint outdoor scenes, then you probably want to get a stand up easel that can handle uneven ground, like the Pro Art French Box Easel.
For young kids, try an indoor easel that also has a chalkboard and dry erase board. That way they can enjoy it even if you run out of paper. Two kids can use it at a time, and this Melissa & Doug Deluxe Standing Easel has three adjustable heights and adjustable trays for holding paint and supplies. The chalkboard is great for playing teacher too. My sister and I loved to “teach” our dolls…. although being a tomboy, they were really all her dolls. Tomboys don’t play with dolls! I preferred to teach her but that didn’t work out as well 🙂
Is the beach in your summer plans? Or maybe a trip to the water park? Here’s a one-of-a-kind camera. This camera can take pictures under the water. I would have loved this as a kid. I could have taken photos while swimming in my pond!
This is the perfect creative gift for any age. It is also shockproof, so I think it would be a great camera for young kids because it’s designed to withstand drops and bumps. A camera that takes high quality photos will be appreciated for much longer than a cheap camera designed only for kids. This is a great way to start her interest in photography.

An art kit is a great idea for any age. My main advice is to try to find one with high quality tools that actually perform well. Don’t buy a cheap marker set.. You can get a lot of marker colors for really cheap, and they will all be bad in a month! Look for high quality sets, even if it means less colors.
This drawing kit is great for anyone who loves to sketch or doodle! This set has a variety of pencil grades, so you can use it to create the desired shading. It also has charcoal pencils, erasers, charcoals, a sketching pad, and a mannequin. You may consider buying some how to draw books with this. When I was twelve, I had some step-by-step books that really taught me some drawing and shading skills. It was a lot of fun!
I made two books when I was a little kid. The first book was in Kindergarten and it was a photo book about kindergarten. The second book I made in 2nd grade and it was about the gulf war. I also remember writing a mystery story too. For most of my childhood, I dreamed of becoming a writer. While blank books are great for young writers, this is a gift that takes it a step further. It’s a kit that transforms your child’s illustrations and text into a real book. It even has an “About the Author” feature for the back cover.
If you’re looking for a memorable gift for a young creative tomboy, I think you’ll be pleased with this. It also makes for a great addition to the homeschool curriculum.
